Spinet Organs were born in 1949 with the Model M. Their main feature is having 44 keys and they were designed to retain the key aspects of Console organs at a lower cost. In the ‘70s, with the introduction of transistors, Spinet Hammond organs became “hybrids”: they still had the classic Tonewheel Generator, but the electronical side wasn’t powered by vacuum tubes anymore.
