Organs

The Hammond Organ was born in 1935 to replace the cumbersome and expensive church organs. Mr Hammond gave rise to an electromechanical organ that changed forever the history of music. Afterwards many other electric organs were invented such as the Vox and the Farfisa.

The Hammond Organ is a pioneer of other vintage instruments including Synthesizers.

Categories of electric and electromechanical Organs

The electronic organ has its origins in previous instruments such as the pipe organ and the Harmonium. With time electric organs developed in many directions: the Hammond Organ is the best known among the electromechanical and was frequently used in Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Pop and Rock. Combo Organ were a later addition to the electronic organ family, and famous among them are the Vox and Farfisa.

Organs are differentiated into two main categories: Electric and Electromechanical. Electromechanical organs form sounds thanks to both mechanical and electric components, the latter being mostly vacuum tubes. Electric organs form sound through frequency oscillators.

In February of 1975 the production of valve electromechanical Hammond organs was terminated, therefore all pieces on the market are vintage. Organ Studio Italia specializes in repairing and selling these instruments, but we also deal and provide assistance for other organs such as Vox, Farfisa, Pari, Gem, Welson, Viscount and many more.

Organ Studio Italia also offers a vast selection of spinet and console organs, in addition to the Universal B3 and M3, our custom-made portable models that retain the true Vintage sound of the original.
